108: Imagine What You Could Do...
Do you underestimate yourself?
It happens.
You might forget how you pushed through a hard season of life.
Or, you could be low on resilience having not pushed through enough of your recent challenges or setbacks.
I encourage you to tap into the power of your imagination.
Not the fantasy-world of imagining yourself as the superhero of your own story (though that might be the motivation you need...grab your cape and get moving).
I'm talking about the wonder of imagination - as in imagining new and better outcomes and seeing yourself and your aging opportunities as full of greater potential.
We sacrifice too much of our earned resilience by cowering instead of feeling empowered by what we've pushed through.
You have more power than you imagine yourself having - it's time to stand in it
- Your power for generosity
- Your power for gratitude
- Your power for good vibes
Generosity is fulfilling
Generosity goes beyond money.
If you have it, be willing (when necessary) to give it or invest it.
But don't limit your generosity to your wallet.
- Be generous with your time: listen to someone without having an agenda, be present in the moment, get involved when you have something to contribute.
- Be generous with your wisdom: talk someone off-the-ledge of a problem you've previously overcome, be a light in the darkness for someone, give without expecting something in return.
- Be generous with your skills: go where your experience is needed, look for opportunity to build something or build someone up.
Gratitude is restoring
Without sounding cliche', gratitude is, indeed, an attitude.
Living in an attitude of gratitude shapes your outlook on life.
Part of my morning routine is journaling.
As I've written about it here, I follow a few prompts for each entry, nothing fancy.
I begin my daily journal entry completing a simple prompt: "I'm grateful for..."
That moment of gratitude reflection has a restorative effect on my mindset.
- Gratitude restores your confidence by reminding you about what you've overcome.
- Gratitude restores your capacity to imagine how blessed and fortunate you are.
- Gratitude restores your creativity by prompting you to see potential in what you might otherwise overlook.
Good vibes are inviting
You know those people you're around or you encounter in some random moment and you're somehow better because of it?
People compel you or repel you as a result of their vibe.
Good vibes are inviting.
Bad vibes are avoided.
I want to a good-vibe guy, and I imagine you do as well.
- Good vibes invite opportunity to restore hope in humanity.
- Good vibes invite others to join you and invest their time and energy in the relationship.
- Good vibes invite ongoing connections for encouragement and renewal.
Be amazed at what a little (or big) imagination can do when you stand in your power for generosity, gratitude, and creating good vibes
Speaking of generosity, gratitude, and good vibes, I'm grateful you're part of our PGL (Personal Growth and Longevity) community.
I hope your Holiday vibes are good and full of generous moments of love and wonder.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I'll see you here in January 2026.
Press on...
